We love taking on new projects and when Ingrid asked whether I do model portfolio’s, I jumped at this opportunity. Having no experience in this type of photography, I had to call in a friend for guidance and assistance. Peter Lambert, an expert in lighting, was so kind to assist me and aided in bringing these images to life. Peter and I have known each other for only for a few months now and I normally rent some gear from him but now for the first time we actually worked on a project together. It was quite fun!
Ingrid Beets is a second year psychology student at the University of Stellenbosch, residing in my hometown – Atlantis. She felt that she would like to keep her career exciting by being diverse and adding modelling into the works as well. Being a dancer in her church, she insisted on a funky and ballet wardrobe as well. At first she was quite nervous but in the end she was having so much fun, WE almost had to drag her from the location (just kidding) when we were done 🙂
We did the shoot in two stages and over two evenings. The first location was at Sea Point, on rocky surface and the second was close to Woodbridge Island at the beach. The natural light was great but when the artificial (off camera) light was turned on, the images took on a totally new dynamic. Have a look for yourself!
Ingrid, it was great working with you and we wish you well with your very vibrant and promising career.
