What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of children? Small little persons? Nappies? Protect them? Grey hairs? No money? Tuition? Walking down the aisle? Missing them?
Wherever you are in your life with children, a specific command has been given; “suffer them not to come to unto Him, because those belong to the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
So when we look into their baby little eyes, do we think about their education, do we think about the man or woman they will one day enhance or breakdown, do we think about the value they will add to society or the prison spot that they will fill? Do we think about how loud their voice will be on this planet and how they will change it for the good? Are we raising our children in line with His presets or are we suffering them?
A lot of us have “counselling sessions” with 2 year olds. Is this a deep down conviction method or just a politically correct way of raising our kids? “Spare the rod and spoil the child”, “He that spares the rod, hates his child” Proverbs 13:24. A bit too harsh or does it border on child abuse? Our parents didn’t think twice to use the wooden spoon and nothing came from it – we turned out fine!
Our kids are “dying” out there; society has been robbed from strong moral standards and good integrity. Are we adding to the degradation or are we helping in turning it around?
Look at these kids; they are your children and my children. Suffer them not…
We need to teach our daughters to distinguish between a man who flatters her and a man who compliments her ~ a man who spends money on her and a man who invests in her ~ a man who views her as property and a man who views her properly ~ a man who lusts after her and a man who loves her ~ a man who believes he is God’s gift to women and a man who remembers a woman was God’s gift to man (from Glenn Robertson’s FB page)
